When looking for a real estate broker, you want someone who knows New York City and its housing market, works tirelessly on your behalf and is a tough negotiator. It helps if the person has the experience gained from selling more than 2,000 apartments and renting an additional 1,000.
That describes Karen A. Berman, Vice President and Director of Sales for Argo Brokerage. She is a savvy, spirited broker, who has handled all phases of cooperative and condominium sales, including sublets. Karen is recognized throughout the industry for her ability to focus on the needs of her clients and provide the personal attention and insight to help them find the right apartment.
Karen joined The Argo Corporation in 1975 as a specialist in rent stabilization and control legislation. As the conversion mania unfolded in New York City in 1976 she was appointed the manager of Argo's in-house sales agency for properties converted by the company and subsequently she was promoted to her current position as Vice President and Director of Sales where she supervises the sales force and listing activity in the department.
Through her knowledge of the lending market, Karen offers invaluable assistance in arranging financing, even during periods when lending institutions are highly selective. These contacts, along with her skills as a negotiator, lead her to say that her goal is "to exceed my clients'
expectations in all aspects of a deal."
Karen is a licensed real estate broker, serves as a director of several New York City cooperatives and condominiums and is a member of the Association of Real Estate Women (AREW), the Downtown Brokers Association and the Real Estate Board of New York, serving on REBNY's West Side Committee.
